RIP Oscar. |
Today my sibling, Oscar, went to the Vet and didn't come home. Oscar was a stray my Mom found on Mother's Day almost 7 years ago when he was wondering lost along on a busy road. My Mom and Dad said he was a real mess, he had to have all but one tooth removed and had a lot of medical issues over the years, but they loved him very much and he brought a lot of love, fun and laughs into the house. He was a funny little dog...crazy fuzzy fur, his tongue hung out all the time and he always wore "pants" because he peed anywhere and everywhere. Oscar and I were good buddies since I arrived here - he was pretty old and didn't play with me, but he and I took naps together sometimes. My Mom looks really sad, so I'm just laying next to her today and licking her face. I'm pretty sure that is making her feel better. I'm for sure going to lick my Dad's face when he gets home tonight and make him feel better too. Now it's just my sister Minnie and I in the dog department here...and four cats. I'll miss my nap buddy and I'll also miss Oscar at dinner time when I usually got to lick his bowl when he was done eating - he always left a little for me! I'm certain that Oscar is on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge feeling much better now and playing with his brother Murphy and other siblings, both dog and cat, that have crossed the bridge over the years. I'll miss you Oscar.

Oscar with Murphy in fancy "piddle pants".
Murphy was my other dog brother who passed
away last November. He and Oscar were really good
buddies. |

Watching over Oscar yesterday - he didn't feel very good.

this is a real heart breaker and we are thinking of you and the empty space oscar filled in your home.
ReplyDeletethe healing is having all your other wonderful souls surround you daily and remind you of the life all around.

Thank you so much for your words Michael. It's amazing what a hole they leave when they go! But it's true...the rest of our furry clan help heal the sadness. I'm truly at peace today knowing it was the right decision - he was really struggling the last couple of days (they think he had a brain tumor and he had something going on with his lungs they were trying to figure out)...anyway, he's with his brother Murphy and all the others now feeling healthy again. We just lost Murphy in November, so it's been a little rough. Miss Luna & Miss Minnie are a handful though...they are both young and so full of life...plus all our kitties. Thanks again for your comment, it means a lot to me. xoxo to you and L, and of course kisses to Mr. Bmo. Sue & Luna :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so sorry...both Oscar and Murphy were so blessed to be in your home and share their lives with you all. It's so hard losing such special and cherished companions, but they truly do leave themselves impressed upon our hearts when they go and are with us there forever.
ReplyDeleteThoughts are with you all...
Big hugs,
